Directions:  Use resources including books and the links on the right side of this page to answer the following questions about the Caddo Tribe.

 

1.  In which part of the coastal plain region did they live?

 They lived in east and northeast Texas.

2.  What types of landforms, climate and natural resources are located where they settled?

 They lived near rivers, creeks, and forest.  The climate was humid and warm with a lot of rainfall.  They used branches from pine trees, soil, water, and fish.

3.  Were they gatherers, farmers or hunters?  What types of food did they eat?

 The Caddo were farmers, and gatherers.They grew corn beans and squash.  They ate berries, roots, and nuts.  They also ate fish from the nearby rivers.

4.  What type of shelter did they live in?  Did they use the natural resources around them to build their shelter?  They lived in a hut made of grass. They used buffalo skins for blankets.
