Directions:  Use resources including books and the links on the right side of this page to answer the following questions about the Comanche.

1.  In which part of the Great Plains region did they live?

They lived in north west Texas. 

2.  What types of landforms, climate and natural resources are located where they settled?

Some land forms were hills,mountains,plains and rivers.

Some natural recources were animals such as buffalo. The climate was windy with varied tempatures and little rainfall.

3.  Were they gatherers, farmers or hunters?  What types of food did they eat?

They hunted and gathered. They ate buffalo and elk meat.

4.  What type of shelter did they live in?  Did they use the natural resources around them to build their shelter?They lived in tee-pees. Buffalo skin and wood were some things they used for shelter.

5.  What system of government did the Native Texan group have?  How did they govern themselves?

They had leaders for each band of comanches. They also had a chief.
